Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
In many cases, no — you can contact us directly, and we’ll help determine the right next steps. We recommend checking with your insurance carrier, as some plans do require a referral for coverage. We’re happy to help you navigate that process.
Who do you work with?
We currently serve children ages 2–18. If your child is younger or older and you’re not sure whether we’re the right fit, reach out — we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
What does a typical session look like?
Sessions are individualized and activity-based — they often look more like structured play than traditional therapy. Taylor designs each session around your child’s specific goals, interests, and sensory needs. Parents are welcome to observe and are always informed about what was worked on and why.
How long will my child need therapy?
Duration varies widely depending on the child’s needs and goals. Some families see significant progress in a short period; others benefit from ongoing support. We reassess regularly and will always be transparent with you about progress and next steps.
How often will my child be seen?
Frequency is determined by your child’s needs and your family’s schedule. We’ll discuss this during the evaluation and build a schedule that makes sense for everyone. Most children are seen once or twice a week to start.
What should my child bring or wear?
Comfortable clothing that allows for movement is all that’s needed. We’ll let you know if there’s anything specific to bring based on your child’s goals. The most important thing is that your child arrives ready to try something new.
Will I be involved in my child’s treatment?
Absolutely — family involvement is central to what we do. We’ll share findings, explain our approach, and give you strategies to support your child’s goals at home. You’ll never be left guessing about what’s happening or why.
Where are you located?
